¿Podrías describir brevemente tus obras y trayectoria literaria?
Could you briefly describe your works and literary career?
Matemates es un proyecto artístico colaborativo entre Florencia Frete (Argentina) y Alexandru G. Ichim (Rumania). Creamos y re-creamos de forma individual, juntos y con otros colectivos artísticos. Exploramos diversos materiales: escritura, música, audiovisuales, performance, investigación y proyectos comunitarios. Hemos trabajado en la edición de libros con nuestro colectivo ALGO en Argentina, pero Latcho Drom es el primer libro de nuestra autoría, y esperamos sea el primero de una serie con cuentos y poemas semejantes donde exploramos las fronteras multiculturales que nos habitan.
Matemates is a collaborative artistic project between Florencia Frete and Alexandru G. Ichim. We create and re-create together and separately and along other artistic groups. We explore different mediums: creative writing, music, audiovisuals, performance, research and community projects. We’ve edited books with ALGO in Argentina but Latcho Drom is our first self-published book. We hope this book will be the first of series of similar poems and stories that explore the multicultural frontiers that inhabit us.
Con respecto a tu participación en The London Spanish Book & Zine Fair.¿Por qué es importante una feria del libro en español en el Reino Unido?
Why is a book fair in Spanish important in the United Kingdom?
Celebramos la iniciativa de una feria de este tipo en Londres ya que congrega la riqueza del mundo hispano y el bilingüismo que representa a muchas de las comunidades hispanas en Londres. Creemos que es un espacio importante para fortalecer los intercambios entre los distintos creadores y lectores reunidos alrededor de esa diversidad. Y valoramos la apuesta por reunir producciones de todo tipo, ya sean editoriales más establecidas así como productores independientes como nosotros.
We celebrate the initiative of such a fair in London as it brings together the wealth of the Hispanic world and the bilingualism that represents many of the Hispanic communities in London. We believe it is an important platform to strengthen exchanges between the different creators and readers gathered around that diversity. And we value the commitment to gather productions of all kinds, whether they are more established publishers as well as independent producers like us.
¿Qué expectativas tienen de esta feria del libro y fanzines en Londres?
What are your expectations of this book and fanzines fair in London?
Esperamos que sea un espacio que se nutra de la diversidad de expresiones literarias y que reúna iniciativas abiertas al intercambio. Asimismo, ansiamos que la plataforma pueda contribuir a las redes entre producciones del tipo más periférico e informal junto con aquellas de larga escala.
We hope it will be a space that draws on the diversity of literary expressions and brings together initiatives open to exchange. Likewise, we hope that the platform can contribute to the networks between productions of the most peripheral and informal type along with those of large scale.
