¿Podrías describir brevemente tus obras y trayectoria literaria?
Could you briefly describe your works and literary career?
Me describo a mí misma como una Contadora de Historias Migrante. He vivido en Londres más tiempo que en mi propio país, Colombia. Durante tres décadas he hecho películas y escrito guiones. Escribo historias que relatan mi experiencia de migrante y por lo tanto me defino como una escritora de frontera. Mi primera novela, El Múrcielago de Oro, la publiqué en 2015 y se encuentra disponible en The London Spanish Book & Zine Fair. Con esta novela quise contar una historia que sirviera de puente entre los lectores de mi comunidad residentes en el Reino Unido y los lectores británicos que hablan mi idioma en este país. También he publicado varios cuentos en Desde el país prestado (2012) y fui incluida en la antología bilingüe Violeta anda por estas tierras (Victorina Press) con el cuento ‘Violeta azul’. Dos poemas narrativos fueron seleccionados para Memorias de la diáspora por Mujer Diáspora en 2019.
I described myself as a Migrant Storyteller. I have lived in London longer than in my country of origin, Colombia. I have been a filmmaker and screenwriter for over three decades and I write stories that come out of my transnational migrant experience. I wrote my first novel THE BAT OF GOLD in 2015, available at the fair in Spanish). My intention was to write a story that serve as a bridge between Colombians living in UK and British readers who read Spanish in Britain. I also have a collection of short stories DESDE EL PAÍS PRESTADO (2012) and was included in the bilingual anthology VIOLETA WALKS IN STRANGE LANDS, Victorina Press, 2018) with my story BLUE VIOLET. Two narrative poems also were included in MEMOIRS OF THE COLOMBIAN DIASPORA (Diaspora Woman, 2019).
¿Por qué es importante una feria del libro en español en el Reino Unido?
Why is a book fair in Spanish important in the United Kingdom?
Los escritores de origen latinoamericano, migrantes, residentes o de la primera o segunda generación nacidos en el Reino Unido, necesitan de un espacio como el de esta feria para llegar a sus coetáneos lectores latinoX y también a los miles de británicos que hablan castellano en el Reino Unido y que se interesan por literatura y la cultura de América Latina y España. Nosotros escritores de las fronteras, necesitamos ser creativos en nuestros intentos por llegar a nuestros lectores, y esta feria nos da esa oportunidad.
Writers of Latin American origin, migrant, residents or first or second generation born in UK, need a space such as this fair to reach out to the readership in UK either to other fellow LatinX and to the thousands of Britons that speak castellano in UK, who are interested in the literature and culture of Latin America and Spain.
We, transnational writers, need to be creative in our ways to reach our readers and this fair gives us that opportunity.

What are your expectations of this book and fanzines fair in London?
Nosotros, los escritores de las fronteras, necesitamos ser creativos en nuestros intentos por llegar a nuestros lectores, y esta feria nos da esa oportunidad. Los talleres son una oportunidad única de compartir y divertirse, leyendo y escribiendo con los escritores.
We, transnational writers, need to be creative in our ways to reach our readers and this fair gives us that opportunity. The workshops will be a unique opportunity to share creative insights and have fun, reading and writing with the writers.
