Lola Halfon

Poetry in SPANISH

Todavía hay fuga, it is not only a book but also a garden that the author planned with precision. A place where everyday and evocative poems emerge, surrounded by dazzling and profuse lyricism. Verses smell like a cabin, like a forest, like flowers against fear, like snow that melts due to the heat of confessions: “olvidé que podía / frotar mi piel / en un acto de ternura / conmigo misma” (I forgot that I could / rub my skin / in an act of tenderness / with myself). Lola, like the Stalker character in Andréi Tarkovsky's film, guides us through that garden that mutates with each leaf we turn and stains us with the juice that flows from childhood, losses and loves.

Lola Halfon was born in 1993 in Buenos Aires and lives in Villa los Coihues, Bariloche, Argentina , with Runa, her dog. Her poems can be found in handmade publications, anthologies and digital media. She is part of the Carilafquen Popular Library, the Patagonian Writers Collective and the El Plan Bookstore. She organizes poetry events and coordinates reading and writing workshops. This is her first poetry book.
