Frida y Zapata - Y la Flor de la Muerte (Chirimbote 2019)

Written in Spanish and illustrated by Nadia Fink and Pitu Saa. (recommended age: 6 to 12 years)

With Frida y Zapata we enter to the Mexico of the Revolution, that of 1910, but also to the world of the living and the dead, which sometimes cross from one side to the other.

Frida Kahlo and Emiliano Zapata are from that time. They were 28 years apart, but Frida always admired the Revolution that Zapata led and his legacy.

This is a legend, where death is part of life and the cycle of nature. Where our ancestors celebrate with music, food, drinks and dancing, as in a good party.

Between these two worlds our characters walk, asking for land and work, painting the art of the broken body and creating a symbol that lasts beyond all worlds, beyond all time.
